"Tazewell Thompson's work as a director is prolific, with more than 75 production credits at venerable companies including Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Goodman Theatre, Guthrie Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and the Public Theater. In recent years, he has written award-winning plays and garnered numerous playwriting commissions. What the theatre world is probably less aware of is the director's lifelong personal and professional engagement with music.
